In this hands on course, you'll learn from scratch the basics of the whole process and create a small panel to take home. No prior experience is needed for this day and you will be instructed through each stage which will include:
-tips on how to design and choose glass colours
-how to handle and cut glass safely to shape using a glass cutter.
-stretching and cutting lead came
-fitting and soldering the panel
-attaching hooks and cementing the piece
-Immerse yourself in the tranquility of Riverside House.
If you've always wanted to know how stained glass is made, try a new hobby and get creative but not sure where to start then this is the perfect day course for you. After completing this day you will then have the option of broadening your stained skills into the art of traditional fired stained glass painting by booking onto course 2.
PLEASE NOTE: There will be a health and safety briefing before the course begins. Due to the given known risks of lead to unborn babies this course isn't suitable if you are pregnant or trying for a baby.

Immerse yourself in the tranquillity of this enchanted wilderness, nestled in the heart of Stourbridge.
In this hands on course, you'll learn to identify botanical materials and use them to create a range of natural inks.
You will explore and experiment using a range of ingredients to modify your colour palette before exploring drawing and painting processes with these beautiful natural hues.
Gathering natural materials from around the site you will use botanical solutions and light to print, using anthotype and vertotype methods.
If you want to work creatively with natural, environmentally conscious materials, reflective of your surroundings then this is the course for you.

Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Immerse yourself in the tranquility of this enchanted wilderness, nestled in the heart of Stourbridge.
Come and learn the art of wet felting at Riverside House with Josephine Baker.
In this hands on course, you'll learn the whole process of wet felting to create a three dimensional form in the shape of a beautiful teardrop bird house.
Selecting from a variety of coloured wools to create an ombre effect or block colour, adding decorative details and embellishments.
No prior experience is needed for this day and you will be instructed through each stage of the process, which will include:
-choosing and layering up the coloured wool
-wet felting around a shape to create a three dimensional form
-drying and shaping the felt
-decorating and embellishing your felt birdhouse
